Janus Elevator Products was formed in 1988 and is the sole supplier in the United States for infrared elevator door safety systems manufactured by Memco Ltd. (UK). Janus Elevator Products is based in Long Island, New York and is the leading supplier of infrared elevator door safety within the United States.

Memco Ltd. was established in 1972, operates to the highest quality standards as proven by its BS EN 9001-2000 certification and has grown to be the world leader in the field of infrared elevator door safety systems through continuous investment in areas such as research, development and manufacturing.

Janus Elevator Products Inc. and Memco Ltd. joined Halma plc in 1990. Halma plc is a worldwide group focused on products that protect people's lives and health.

Janus Elevator Products supplies a number of the leading elevator manufacturing and service companies throughout the United States. In April 2005, Janus took over distribution for its sister company Electronic Micro Systems to combine their strengths in this market. Other companies' products under the Janus banner include TL Jones and Emotive-USA.
